IRIDIUM PREPAY * The units or minutes must be used within the months of validity of the chosen activation voucher, after that there are still two months where the card will not work for outgoing or incoming calls but it is still possible to make top-ups. And unless you do not make ??a top-up within 12 months, the Sim card will be deactivated and the remaining minutes on the SIM card are irretrievably lost. Of course, if you reload the SIM card every 12 months (not in the month when you only recieve calls), the minutes remaining shall be aggregated and added with the new ones on the rechargeable SIM card. If you do not use the phone, you could also recharge the card within 14 months, in this way you will earn 2 months of validity of the top-up (however without the possibility to use it in this period and with the cost of losing all remaining credit)

Prepaid SIM Expiration Date

Each Prepaid SIM card has an expiration date that is set at the time of activation. This expiration date is dependent on the type of Prepaid SIM card purchased. Below are the expiration periods for the current prepaid offerings:

75 minute Prepaid SIM card expires after thirty days. 150 minute Prepaid SIM card expires after 60 days. 225 minutes Prepaid SIM card expires after 90 days. 500 minute Prepaid SIM card expires after one year. 750 minute Prepaid SIM card expires after 6 months and cannot be reloaded. 1000, 3000 and 5000 minute Prepaid SIM cards expire after two years. 200 minute Canadian Prepaid SIM expires after six months. 300 minute African Prepaid SIM expires after one year.

When a Prepaid SIM card expires, any remaining minutes are forfeited.

New Iridium Prepaid Minute Rule (effective December 17, 2013):

Prepaid units that have been carried over for more than 3 years will expire on a daily basis. This applies to all prepaid accounts (GoChatcards NOT affected). The expiration process will be conducted on a daily basis by Iridium as follows: The total number of minutes purchased more than three (3) years ago will be calculated and units will be expired at 23:59 UTC each day.

A Prepaid SIM card is also considered expired on the date that all minutes have been consumed. Once your Prepaid SIM card expires, whether due to usage of all minutes or the passage of the expiration period, you have 90 days to purchase additional minutes (reload) for your current Prepaid SIM card. If additional minutes are not purchased within 90 days, the Prepaid SIM card is permanently deactivated and the phone number is no longer valid. When this occurs, you may purchase a new Prepaid SIM card which we will mail to you, and a new phone number will be assigned. In the case of the Canadian and African prepaid plans a new activation fee will apply, unless special promotions are currently being offered.

30 Day Extension

This option extends your existing exipration date by 30 days. You may purchase with the 75, 150, 225, 500, 1000, 3000 or 5000 minute plans. This is the ideal plan if you have minutes remaining on your Prepaid SIM card at the end of the expiration period, and you plan on using the minutes in the 30 day period following the expiration date. You may purchase multiple 30 day extensions in a single or multiple transactions. This option is only available prior to the expiration date, so we recommend that you submit your extension request a minimum of two business days prior to your expiration date. This option is not available for the African and Canadian plans.

50 Minute Reload

This is a plan for existing prepaid customers on the worldwide prepaid minute plans. This plan will provide 50 additional minutes, but will not extend the expiration date. This is an ideal plan for a customer who is about to run out of prepaid minutes. This plan is not offered as a "stand alone" option, it can only be used with existing prepaid customers.

Reloads to Existing Prepaid SIM Cards

Reload transactions are only available for 90 days after your Prepaid SIM expiration date, or 90 days after all minutes have been utilized, whichever comes first. After this 90 day period, a reload cannot be done to your existing Prepaid SIM card and you must purchase a new Prepaid SIM card. A reload transaction adds additional minutes to your existing Prepaid SIM card, allowing you to retain your current phone number and Prepaid SIM card.

If the reload is processed before your expiration date, any remaining minutes are added to the reload minutes you purchase, and the expiration of all new minutes (including the roll over minutes) is based on the expiration period of the reload plan you purchase.

Subsequent reloads extend the expiration date for remaining units on a SIM card relative to the current expiration date. There is a maximum validity of 24 months from the date of any given reload regardless of how many reload transactions are applied. As of December 17, 2013, prepaid units that have been carried over for more than 3 years will expire on a daily basis. This applies to all prepaid accounts (GoChatcards NOT affected). The expiration process will be conducted on a daily basis by Iridium as follows: The total number of minutes purchased more than three (3) years ago will be calculated and units will be expired at 23:59 UTC each day.

If the reload is processed after the expiration of the Prepaid SIM card, any unused minutes are forfeited. A reload during the 90 day grace period will continue the activation of your current Prepaid SIM card and retain the current assigned phone number, but will not roll over minutes that may have remained prior to the expiration date.

You may purchase multiple increments on one Prepaid SIM card. For example, you may purchase 2-500 minute increments and have 1,000 minutes put on one Prepaid SIM card. Purchasing multiple increments of the 75 minute plan also increases the expiration date period. For example, two-75 minute plans would provide 150 minutes of airtime and be valid for 60 days. Three 75 minute plans would provide 225 minutes of airtime and be valid for 90 days. Only the 75 minute plan increments the expiration date. African and Canadian minute plans cannot be combined with other minute plans.

African Plan

Calls can only originate in Africa. Subscribers will be able to receive direct dialed voice and data calls and Mobile Terminated SMS outside of African continent, but will not be able to initiate calls or SMS.

Northern Lights (Alaska/Canadian Plan)

Calls can only originate in Canada. Subscribers will be able to receive direct dialed voice and data calls and Mobile Terminated SMS outside of Canada, but will not be able to initiate calls or SMS.

Refunds

All prepaid sales are final. Iridium allows no refunds for Prepaid SIM cards.

Iridium provides the only truly global satellite voice and data solutions on the planet. Work or play anywhere on earth and enjoy complete coverage.This includes oceans, airways and Polar Regions.

The Iridium constellation consists of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO), cross-linked satellites operating as a fully meshed network. Iridium has the largest commercial satellite constellation in the world and delivers essential communications services to and from remote areas where no other form of communication is available. This is what makes the Iridium network unique.

The Iridium network provides global coverage however; Iridium complies with U.S. embargo restrictions and as such is prohibited from providing products and service to the following countries: Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Sudan.

Since this is beyond Iridium’s control, each country is different and regulations may change without notice; it is best to check with the local Consulate or Customs offices for current details.

The embargoed countries where a satellite phone will work in these countries (we cannot guarantee service), but there (may be) issues taking an Iridium phone into these areas at customs/border patrols: Cuba, Iran, Libya, Sudan, Angola & Yugoslavia. You may need special government permission to bring a satellite phone into embargoed countries.

the service provided from Iridium Communications Inc. has 100% coverage of the earth's surface.

The IRIDIUM provides the SMS to email but no arrangements for sending two-way SMS to all operators worldwide.

NB All satellite users are not empowered to call special numbers of individual nations, such as: Emergency services, toll-free numbers, special numbers or premium, etc.. The customer will find the numbers pointing national service that wants to call.

The Iridium network provides global coverage however; Iridium complies with U.S. embargo restrictions and as such is prohibited from providing products and service to the following countries: Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Sudan.

Grace period for renewals: 90 days from date of expiry. If expiry grace period is missed, a new SIM card will need to be ordered.

HOW TO CHECK PREPAID BALANCE
To check the remaining minute at anytime dial 2888, the number of remaining ISU-PSTN minutes in the account and the number of days until the account expires are announced. The announcement is in English.
