BGAN Link is a broadband data service for users who have a requirement for high volumes of standard IP data in one location. It provides companies working in a remote area for sustained periods of time with a data connection speed of up to half a megabit, suitable for standard office-type applications such as email, internet and intranet access, and VPN access to corporate networks.
The End User has 2 options:
- Use up the allowance and then pay for out of allowance Mbytes
- Choose to restrict the usage only to the allowance - this requires further discussion with your Account Manager and has an activation fee of $1,500.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
- BGAN Link Plans are available for Class 1 terminals only (Thrane and Thrane Explorer 700 and Hughes 9201).
- BGAN Link plans are NOT currently available in Afghanistan and the USA.
- The End User must provide the exact location of the User Terminal (Latitude and Longitude).
If usage occurs outside this location without prior notice (below) then services will be charged per GEOBORDERS's standard rate plan and NOT per this BGAN Link plan.
User Terminal can be re-located once a quarter only. Cost per re-location is $1,500, requires 45 days prior notice and new GPS co-ordinates to be provided.
Pre-approval by Inmarsat is required for all End User activations.
Traffic management and Usage rules apply to the Fair Use Policy (FUP) - please discuss with your Account Manager.

Inmarsat è un sistema basato su una costellazione di satelliti geostazionari la cui copertura è mondiale, con la sola esclusione delle calotte polari in tutte le aree comprese tra il 76° parallelo Nord e Sud, come indicato graficamente nella cartina affianco.
Questo servizio è in grado di assicurare voce e dati broadband anche in navigazione. FleetBroadband, basato sullo standard 3G, consente, anche in navigazione, l’accesso simultaneo ai servizi voce e dati a banda larga fino a ben 432 kbps per posta elettronica, internet e intranet.
